At ASET.Training, we provide the BSIS-approved instruction required to master the baton as a defensive tool. Our courses are designed to ensure you meet California’s strict legal requirements while gaining the practical, hands-on skills necessary for professional field duty. Our classes take place in Victorville and Rancho Cucamonga.
Baton Training Enrollment Requirements
To lawfully carry a baton on duty in California, you must meet the following criteria:

Age: Must be 18 years of age or older.

Identification: A valid state-issued ID or Driver’s License.

Professional Status: A valid California Guard Card (or a current BSIS printout).

Certification: Successful completion of this Baton Permit course.

To remain in full compliance with state regulations, please note the following: Per BSIS rules, the Baton Training course is a mandatory 8-hour classroom session. However, students will only receive 4 hours of credit toward their mandatory 8-hour annual continuing education requirement.

Class Day Logistics:
Schedule & Arrival

Start Time: Classes begin at 9:00 AM sharp.

Belt & Loops: You must wear pants with belt loops and a sturdy belt. This is mandatory for practicing draws and holster retention.
